In the mid-1980s, members of the United Methodist Church felt a call to be present with
the people of southeast Arlington—to build relationships, share Christ’s love in tangible
ways, and grow alongside the community. That calling led to the first worship gatherings
of what would become St. Andrew’s, held at Atherton Elementary School in 1986.
A few years later, in 1991, we put down permanent roots on six acres along Green Oaks
Boulevard—not to stake a claim, but to create a space where neighbors could gather,
serve, worship, and grow together. As southeast Arlington evolved, so did St. Andrew’s,
expanding in purpose, deepening our partnerships, and widening our welcome.
Throughout our journey, faithful pastors and dedicated lay leaders have helped us live
out God’s love in ways that matter: through relationships, service, and community
engagement. As a United Methodist Church, we’re part of a global connection
committed to justice, compassion, and the transformation of the world through God’s
grace. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are a people called to love boldly, serve
joyfully, and live courageously—right here in Southeast Arlington.
St. Andrew’s is a diverse, welcoming congregation where people of all backgrounds and
life stages can belong and find purpose. Whether you're single, partnered, raising
children, retired, or anywhere in between, we hope you’ll find a warm welcome here!
And then, we hope you’ll help us welcome others!
We invite you to visit, to connect, to join with St. Andrew’s and be part of a continuing
story—one rooted in community and powered by Christ’s love. It’s a story moving
toward a delightful ending: “on earth, as it is in heaven!”
