What
is a FEAST small group?
FEAST
is the name for our new small group program and stands for, Faith
Enrichment And Support Teams.
Our small group
program includes weekly groups for fellowship, study and support,
and a broader scope of groups with specific interests.
What
is the purpose of a FEAST small group?
A
FEAST small group is made up of 4-12 people who agree to meet on a
regular basis. When you
participate in a small group you are able to build relationships
through encouragement, accountability, guidance and prayer, so that
all members experience life transformation through Jesus.
In
a small group setting you can share thoughts, feelings, struggles
and joys. Small groups
are also a wonderful place to grow in hope and prayer while you
discover ways to put Biblical truths to work in your life.
What
happens during a FEAST meeting?
Each
meeting of your small group will include time for fellowship, study,
and prayer concerns. There
is a person or couple who will guide and lead the group.
When
do FEAST groups meet?
Each
FEAST group will decide the time and day of the week to meet.
Who
is the leader of a FEAST group?
Each
leader of a FEAST group has been invited to participate and meets
with other FEAST leaders for learning and support.
The FEAST small group program reports to the Nurture Council.
FEAST
Small Groups
Our
FEAST Small Group ministry is based upon the knowledge that in small
groups we learn best to relate with other Christians, develop close
friendships, and can grow in our faith.
Jesus
models small groups in the way he chose twelve disciples, and spent
three years with them, before they became transforming the world in
the name of our Savior. Following
the resurrection, as other disciples joined together for worship,
the structure for their growth was in small groups.
Our
own Methodist founder, John Wesley, understood the importance of
small groups and the entire early Methodist movement was based upon
groups who made a promise to share in fellowship and study with each
other.
